Gaana Rasika Mandali, an organization meant for the promotion of Carnatic Classical Music, was started during the Seventies by late Sri. His special love and devotion to Carnatic Classical Music was so deep that he organized weekly chamber music concerts and conducted classes at almost all the places where he was transferred. Even to-day his students and their students are continuing the mission of spreading the Carnatic Classical Music in their places.
The Gaana Rasika Mandali was organizing chamber music concerts every week in which many eminent musicians of both Karnatak, Hindustani Classical music vocal and instrumental , participated with great enthusiasm . Some of the performers include Vidwan/Vidushi. Seethalakshmi Venkateshan , Neela Ramagopal, Shyamala Bhave, Anoor Ramakrishna, Sitar Rama Rao, A.V.Anand, and Flute Doreswamy. His vast knowledge in the Laya aspect of Music was brought out in the form of a book titled “Sangeetha Akshara Hridaya “ (a new approach to Tala Calculations). Satyanarayana and Mridanga Vidwan A.V. Anand.
